Anna has been a cutting edge stylist for over 13 years. She has trained with Matrix internationally
for over 5 years. Her time at Matrix includes working as an educator of cutting and color. Anna has
instructed these advanced techniques across three states. She's also instructed audiences at hair
shows on the newest styling trends.
In Anna's own words: "My goal is to give clients a personalized look that they can easily replicate
and style on their own." "Thorough consultation and communication with the client is essential to a
successful salon experience."
She specializes in precision and textured cutting. Her clients range from having thin/fine hair to
thick, coarse hair. She will give you a cut that will help manage any hair type. Anna also specializes
in dealing with thick, curly hair (she has that herself) and making it more manageable for clients. The
key to success is for the client to be completely educated on their hair (which Anna provides to every client),
at home maintenance (shampoos and products) and achievable styling concepts (blow drying techniques,
flat ironing skills). To complete the new style, Anna will strategically place foils and color if client
desires, providing anything from a subtle and natural to a trendy and funky look. She also specializes in
thermal straightening and cold smoothing a client's curly hair. "Thermal makes hair completely straight,
while smoothing reduces the volume and removes some of the curl."
Men's cuts and style is also one of her specialties. She can also help blend away gray on men in a gradual
manner, so that the color will not be noticeable with a quick color technique.

I started going to Exposed back in 2007, I absolutely love Anna and Jasmine (who cut my daughter's hair). I was a little apprehensive at first because no one was ever able to cut my thick massively curly hair just right. It turns out that Anna's hair is the same way, and she knows just what to do to tame my mane.
My sister recommended her salon, and I will never deviate for anything else. To all of the other ladies out there who think Anna's "friends" are the ones writing the reviews, you're right. Once you have a great experience with her, you become a friend not just a client. The salon is in a store front, but so are most businesses in downtown Lombard. The salon is a little small, but I think that makes it more intimate. If you experienced super busy times, go on a different day or an earlier or later time, as Tuesdays and Saturdays are always busy and 4-7pm is the peak time. I always make my appointment for Tuesday at 1:30 and I am usually the only one in there.
As for Jasmine, thank you so much for giving my little girl the cut that I have been searching for her to get. I think it has to be because of the connection the two of you had from when you were at TCD, and she was there for pre-school. You already had a bond and that made her more comfortable in the chair. I will be sure you are the only one that touches her head from now on.

I used to go to Exposed on a regular basis, however, because my sister-in-law can do my hair basically for free at her house whenever I need, I haven't been in lately. Before finding Exposed I had been to many salons without finding a stylist that could do what I wanted with my hair. Anna always gave me a great cut and awesome color, I never once felt even slightly unhappy with the work she had done. One of the other reviewers got it right when she said that it is a lot of "friends" writing reviews because that's how they treat you, as a friend not just another client. I highly recommend Exposed, you will be truly happy with how you look when you walk out of this salon!

Here I am again, with another update.
I went in for some fashion color highlights (pink and turquoise!), a haircut, and some products I was running low on.
I got there early, and as usual, the place was hopping. I must have seen 4 or 5 people leave, all with smiles, and I think a few people winked at themselves in the mirror.....HA!
I was in the salon for a few hours-----but I knew that was going to happen, as I had bleach, color, and a cut to get. At no point in time was I sitting around waiting for someone to do something for me----I was being worked on every minute (save the few moments under the dryer that I needed for processing) and despite my difficult request, Anna, Katie, and Megan made it happen. My insane idea for color and placement came out exactly as I had pictured it. Again.
After the "big reveal" I started my product shopping. They have a very good selection of Bed Head cosmetics, and their eyebrow pencil is one of my MUST haves.
Checkout was a breeze, and my next appointment is booked.

Truth be told, giving Exposed five stars is a pretty big deal for me, especially because I'm really picky when it comes to hair stylists. (Don't roll your eyes, my hair is so short that every little snip counts...)
Anyway, the receptionist & other employees at Exposed are friendly, helpful, & really accommodating. Their prices are also reasonable - not so high you'd scream, but not so low that you'd start worrying. Also, although the salon is kinda small, it has a really upscale design & feel to it, which can be bit of a rarity in this area.
And while I'd rather not name the stylist who cuts my hair (I'm afraid she'd be even more booked than she already is) suffice it to say that she's really sweet & is great at her job. There are none of those awkward silences while she's snipping away, even though I see her every 4 or 5 wks.
So, if you're looking for a friendly, high-quality hair salon that won't break the bank, this is the place to go.

Exposed is the first salon or hair place that has been good enough for me to make a commitment to. I have thick, curly hair, and I've never met a stylist who could handle it.
Exposed can handle it. My stylist actually has my same hair...and she cuts it well. I usually just sit in the chair and give very minimal direction (with cuts or color), and she thinks about it, and then gives me something fabulous.
The staff is great. I'm always offered coffee, water, or wine. They have tons of treats during the holidays, and a big party to celebrate the anniversary of the place opening (in May).
My out of town sister and out of state former roommates book appointments when they are in. I've also evangelized 3 co-workers into going.
Love the place. Also, the eyebrows girl is very thorough. worth the money.

I personally went through a life changing event and decided to spice my life with extensions. I have to applaud the ladies at Exposed because they made me look absolutely fabulous and I started to receive many compliments with my new look! Thanks to Diane, Katie, and Anna for everything! You girls rock!

I decided to go to Exposed after I read the reviews here on Yelp, and am thrilled with my cut. I have been going to Anna for about 8 months now and positively love the care and attention she gives when listening to what I want, as well as being a courteous, down to earth person.
I finally have a great cut for my face shape, and I get compliments on my hair all the time. She also trims my bangs for free between cuts. I have my brows waxed here now as well, even though it's a little more expensive than some - but you get what you pay for, and they definitely know what they're doing.

I went to Exposed for a hair cut the other night, and it was definitely one of the best I have ever gotten! I have already received so many compliments, and I told them all I went to Exposed in Lombard. The owner Anna does a fantastic job, and she is just so down to earth. For a salon that provides such high-quality service and style, they have none of the attitude that usually accompanies those things, and their prices are very reasonable as well. Highly recommended!

This place is fantastic ... I have never written a review for any place whatsoever, but this place deserves it! Everyone is SO nice ... I had my hair cut and LOVED them. Came back for a straightening treatment and was blown away by them! Also had my brows done, and those look great!
They know their stuff and the prices are reasonable! They are incredibly nice too! Can NOT beat it! Go there ... really! You won't regret it!

This is the best haircut I've had in a long time/maybe ever! My go-to hair stylists kept on moving to other cities, etc. etc. and I had to find a new place. I'm really particular about my hair and can rarely find a hair stylist who actually listens to what I want and not what he/she thinks will look good on me. I took a chance with them considering their good feedback online, and it was totally worth it! Anna did an AMAZING job and took my hair which was completely grown out of its style (the last time I'd gotten a hair cut was about 3 months before) and made it look exactly as I described it to her, actually—no, she cut my hair BETTER than what I had imagined she would've done, asking me the entire time if I was comfortable with her taking a little more off here, a little more there, or whatever. The staff was extremely hospitable, offering me something to drink within seconds of me telling them I had an appointment. On top of that, the place has a cute, comfortable interior and it's clean. I paid $45 for my haircut, and while I know some of you out there might think that's a liiiiiittle bit pricey, my philosophy remains that a killer haircut that makes you look and feel great is priceless. People will ask you where you got your hair done. Go here

I needed to find a new hair colorist and read the reviews on Exposed and decided to give them a shot. I must say how pleased I was at the welcoming and service I received. The owner Anna did my color and cut and was very helpful and pleasant to chat with. She did an excellent job on picking colors for my skin tone and I have never been happier. I highly recommend her and plan on bringing my daughter in for color as well.

Went in for a haircut, and loved it!!! Anna was really great, understood exactly what I wanted and got right down too it. Gave me a color gloss for my hair too, which turned out awesome :)
I would definitely recommend this place.
